I’m a Chatterbox and Forever Unbridled loom large in the Fairgrounds Oaks. I’m a Chatterbox goes for a sweep of the bayou races.
The Skinny:
Forever Unbridled enters off a no-excuse 2nd to I’m a Chatterbox. Has improved this winter and can chase the speed and make a move going into the turn. Possible chance to win with the perfect trip. Recent works indicate fitness and a major player.
Desert Valley was a private purchase and enters off a modest effort in last race. Not sure she wants the distance, but is probably better than last race shows.
Jugni seems to be ambitiously placed in this spot. 6 lifetime races, with 2 wins and has never run further than 6 furlongs. Going up in class and stretching out in distance is a tough choice to gamble on.
Audrey’s Double earned diploma in last race with a maiden breaking score at the Fairgrounds. Can improve off that effort and pedigree says distance not the issue. Can round out trifectas possibly.
Danette is america’s favorite maiden and ships in from Santa Anita. Will probably do better away from Santa Anita racing surface and the class drop should put her in with a fighting chance. Has a small shot at glory, but most likely 2nd or 3rd place is the ceiling.
I’m a Chatterbox has shown amazing versatility and speed in all her races. Went wire to wire in 7 furlong win. Dominated the Silverbulletday on the front end. Last race she circled the field from the 10 hole. 2 recent 5F moves have her on edge. Looks like the big chalk in this race. Likely Kentucky Oaks favorite with the win.
Shook Up has some talent and has somehow managed to work out rough trips in most of her races. This horse is a small headcase and expecting everything to come together may be asking too much in this race. But one to keep an eye on down the road.
Tachiello with 1 win in 6 starts in minor races. Steps up in class and faces classier fillies on the rise. Hard to imagine in top 3.
