2018 Mucho Macho Man Stakes Preview

Gulfstream Park hosts the Mucho Macho Man Stakes with two horses likely to take most of the betting action.  The one-mile distance and early January placement on the calendar give horses multiple options for the next scheduled start.

Contenders:

Dak Attack dominated a Churchill Downs maiden race.  The class is coming from the second mare was the classy Proud Spell who won the Alabama and Kentucky Oaks.  Ellis Park Juvenile was a dominating performance and speed figure improved dramatically.  Third race lifetime and the first race of a new form cycle. Expecting a strong effort.

Mask was hammered at the windows in his debut, bet down to 2.30/1 with the runner-up Navistar coming back to win a Maiden race at Gulfstream.  Son of Tapit is out a mare female family who did their best work sprinting.  Recent works should have him fit.  The second-lifetime outing and facing winners should help determine his class level.

Fair Odds Line:

Dak Attack 6/5

Mask 8/5

The Selection:

Mask looked special in his debut and maybe the second choice in this spot.  Has a month of solid works and his overall talent may win in this spot.
